Corvettes and Men

Last night I was watching an old episode of "That 70's Show" on television and the father and mother in the show were arguing about the amount of attention and time Red was lavishing on his Corvette Convertible. At one point Kitty, the mother, walked past a group of guys who were just standing in the driveway admiring the car. She shook her head and mumbled words to the effect of, "Men and cars. I'll just never understand."
And she won't.
First, because it wasn't just a car. It was a 'Vette.
And second because she is a she. To most women there isn't the same visceral reaction to Chevrolet's most perfect machine.
I myself have a 1989 convertible, red with a white top. I don't drive it much right now because I need to get all of the gaskets replaced around the windows and the top (it leaks in the rain). My wife keeps asking me "Why don't you sell it?".
Because that would just be wrong.
She'll never understand.
As the immortal Ferris Bueller said, "For those of you who can afford it, I highly recommend it".
