Review - Romeo Y Julieta Aniversario Corona

This cigar is described as possessing a Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper surrounding a broadleaf binder and a hearty blend of Peruvian, Dominican and Nicaraguan long fillers.
I had a little break in my afternoon schedule and decided to take advantage of it and have a cigar break. I didn't really have a preference and so closed my eyes and reached into the humidor and withdrew what turned out to be a Romeo Y Julieta Aniversario Corona.
Romeo Y Julieta is overall one of my favorite brand of cigars, although I have seen them miss on a type or two.
I had purchased several of this particular type and have had them in my humidor aging for a few months. While I liked the cigar, I'm not as big a fan of it as several others who posted reviews which led to my purchase.
The retail price on these cigars are $150.00 per box of 25. If I remember correctly I paid about $6.00 for it, which makes it a very reasonable buy compared to some of the others I have purchased in the past, particularly in small stores.
Initially, the cigar was a little hard to light using a torch type lighter. In my experience, this is unusual for this brand. It was also a little hard to draw on. I assume both the problem lighting and the draw were due to an exceptionally tight roll, evidenced by the length of the cigar ash I was able to accumulate before finally thumping it off.
The taste was good, although the intensity was on the strong side of medium. I admit, I often have a problem tasting the different flavors the magazines and connoisseurs note, but this stick had a detectable, although not unpleasant, leathery sometimes woodsy flavor and a peppery effect on the tongue. Since I wasn't finished at work yet I didn't imbibe any type of spirit with the smoke, but I suspect a nice tumbler of Maker's Mark bourbon would have fit this cigar particularly well.
The aftertaste associated with this cigar is mild and pleasant.
On a scale of 1-10 I would probably give this smoke a 7 or maybe a little higher.
