As much as I am embarassed to admit it, I was sitting here tonight watching Cocktail, a 1988 movie starring Tom Cruise.

Tom has just moved out from an apartment he has been sharing with his lover, an older and extremely wealthy woman.

WOMAN:  Please, please, I don't want it to end this way.

TOM:        Everything ends badly, otherwise it wouldn't end.


For those who have been through it, no truer words have ever been spoken.
