Vegas Baby! Vegas!

Ah!
A breakfast of vodka soaked olives (cheap vodka of course) augmented with the energy generated by a nicotine infusion from the second hand smoke that permeates the air. Where can you go for such an experience?
Vegas baby!
We leave for Vegas on February 19. For a while we (my best friend and I) were regulars, going every few months but as we get older the bosses expect us to work for our money and so we haven't been in over a year.
This time we got a great rate at the Golden Nugget located on Fremont street in downtown. It is where we usually stay, although we hung at the Plaza last time, which was nice enough for the price but definitely not fancy.
From what I've been reading online The Nugget has apparently undergone some major changes since we were last there. I'll update you during the stay or when I get back if there is not an internet connection available at the hotel.
The gambling? Very little slots, lots of craps, some blackjack and a lot of poker. We'll probably visit the Strip to eat a couple of times, intend to get a shave at The Art of the Shave, a place in Mandalay Bay that focuses on old fashioned shaves, and maybe hot a few of the casinos. I tend to get tired of the people who gamble on the Strip pretty quickly. I mean, 9:00 in the morning and you're wearing a turtleneck and blazer? They tend to clash with my raggedy jeans and t-shirt. Plus, toooooo many frat boys with their baseball caps on backwards. Their tendency to give repeated high fives give me a rash.
Still, everyone ought to visit the Strip and the restaurants and buffets are definitely there. The place is loaded with ultra lounges (see an earlier discussion concerning potato vodka and Red Square at Mandalay Bay) and hotties galore, and there is always something to see. The babes on the strip also tend to be of a higher quality than those downtown although, since we stay downtown, that obviously doesn't apply to the guys.
More later...
