While I am adamantly against cigarettes, the big tobacco companies have basically purchased the right to addict and kill people, readers of this blog know I do like a good cigar.

One of the finest ways to enjoy a good cigar is in a Cigar Bar, although as cities crack down on smoking in public these are getting harder to find.

My first cigar experience was in a cigar bar on a cruise ship making its' way to various Caribbean ports of call.  The room was all rich, dark woods and the chairs were soft leather wingbacks. Your drink of choice, in that case a cognac, as well as your cigar was delivered by a gorgeous Russian girl in a black evening gown. She snipped the end off of the cigar and lit it with a cedar shaving.

Naturally, this was a prime way to introduce me to one of the most luxurious experiences you can have. A drink and a good cigar, along with a comfortable place to enjoy them.

One of the best Cigar Bar experiences I've had was in Casa Fuente, located in the Forum Shoppes of Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

Casa Fuente is reminisicent of Cuba, or at least what I think Cuba would be like. The store is decorated in warm tones, browns, reds and yellows. The humidor is excellent although your selection is limited to the Arturo Fuente family of cigars, including the much coveted Opus X.

The store carries a complete line of cigar accessories as well, although Vegas is really not where you want to shop if you are going to stock up on anything that is available elsewhere.

A bar, featuring tropical drinks as well as a decent assortment of liquor, is located inside the store. There are usually a few manly men sitting on the bar stools and puffing away, but I much prefer to sit outside the store in an area near the escalators where a beautiful, exotic waitress will take your order and deliver it to you. From that point on all you need to do is sit back, puff and sip, and people watch while you enjoy one of rare, non-frantic moments in Las Vegas.
